I'm taking part in my first ever Bloggiesta. I'll be spending the weekend working on some blog tasks that have been piling up in the background. To find out more about Bloggiesta and to sign up yourself visit Maw Books Blog. I'll be posting some updates throughout the weekend to let everyone know how I'm doing.
So what will I be doing this weekend?
Write reviews. - This is probably my main task for the weekend. I have a ton of reviews that need to be typed up.
Write some book-related posts to be scheduled for the future.
Put out invitations for guest posts. - Please see this page to become a guest poster.
Clean up tags.
Anything else that I think of while I'm working.
Mini-challenges I want to attempt:
Write Your Blogging To-Do ListEmbracing Community
I'm sad to be missing this! But good luck and have fun!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a reasonable list! Next to some small clean-up stuff (etc.) my main target is to write reviews and posts as well. I'm so behind!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I forgot about bloggiesta so now I need to fit it in with other activities... Well, at least I haven't missed it! :)
Good luck with your to-do list!
Good luck on your first run through!

I actually thought of your for my international blogging event. I will write a post next week and find you on your blog to give you the post link.
ReplyDeleteI think you should get business cards. I've actually talked to people in bookstores who are looking for a book and we end up talking. If I've read it, I usually tell them that I reviewed it on my blog. Also, if you go to author signing events, reps or publicists are there. I met a rep at a book signing and she was interested in my blog. I didn't have business cards, but luckily she took my info and sent me a few books.
Good luck with writing your reviews. Are you really able to remember books that well? I usually have to type one up within a week--otherwise, I can't remember enough of the book.
Hi everyone, thanks for commenting :)
ReplyDeleteCarin, some really interesting points there about business cards, I didn't really think about book stores and events, mind you I haven't ever been to any author events, but hopefully I will later this year.
As for remembering books, well I usually write some notes in a notebook once I've finished a book, so it's really just a case of looking at my notes and turning them into a review.
Great job thus far Kat! Let me know if I can do anything to help you out this weekend!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the reviews. If I leave them too long I have a hard time remembering what I wanted to write. I only have a few that I still have to write.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with Bloggiesta, I hope you get lots done!
Have fun with Bloggiesta!!!!
